Representation is to show something, or a group of people and the producer encodes these representations into their ideologies. The producer is trying to manipulate the audience into thinking about the producers ideologies. This impacts the opinion of the audience and may possibly change it.
This can cultivate an ideology into the audiences mind and start to make them think and agree with their ideologies. Not only is the target audience being affected but so are the group being represented, if we see things can confirm the worlds view.

Textual analysis- The closing montage

• Maternal role- Through the mid shot of Anita standing over Sophie.
• Child Role- connotations of innocence, as she is getting kidnapped without knowing about it. 
• Binary oppositions- Laura is quite thoughtful of Sophie and this opposes Anita as she has feelings but doesn't understand them. 
• Slow zoom on miska's face and ends with a close up on her face which shows her pain and anger.
• Man in brothel, looks intimidating and is very blunt and aggressive in his demands, man who is not stereotypically attractive and stereotypically uses sex workers.
• Dad says 'not taking it back', not taking notice of his wife's discomfort with the synth, and showing his patriarchal role, this shows his dominance and establishes his role in this episode, buys Anita to show dominance.
• In this scene, Miska is getting raped because she shows no consent, the idea of rape culture where rape and sexual assault is okay, even though its not.
• The preferred reading is to make the audience uncomfortable, it is also very anti-rape.
• Representation of women is that they are stereotypically pretty.
• Anita is like a doll, and little girls like to play with dolls.
