Why is it important for AdBusters to have an online presence?

It is important for AdBusters to have a website as it is more accessible for people these days as social media is much more integrated into people lives, this would make things easier for the producer(s) of the magazine as they would be able to be accessed by many different audiences. The people that would gain access to their website might well start to discover the ideologies behind the media. For example, on the AdBusters website they have a variety of different images that give across their ideologies. They are not driven by profit which could link into the idea of how they rebel against the normalities of the magazine industries that are driven by power and money as discussed by the theorists Curran & Seaton.

AdBusters can get passed the rules of regulation online as they may not be allowed to print certain things. This brings us to the theory of regulation by Sonia Livingstone and Peter Lunt as they discuss the idea of even if it is banned in a certain country you can always obtain it through the internet. This is important for AdBusters as they do not follow the common magazine laws so they would be able to post controversial stuff on the website which they would not be able to publish in their print issue.

AdBusters are very negative and judgemental.  It is a luxurious product you need to have some knowledge on the magazine and they talk about how you shouldn't buy things you don't need.

Their ideology can sometimes be confused and they is no alternative.
