Analysis Of Adbusters
  • The sans serif so it seems quite modern and is directed to a more high class audience maybe to its high price.
  • Dark images. not colourful shows a deep meaning perhaps no happiness in the meaning behind the image.
  • Post- West- could be war because of the central image.
  • Anarchy vibe because he is cheering for something, going against social norms of society.
  • Looks like an old war photo, as he is cheering which could suggest that our society is obsessed with war and criticising the culture.
  • Destroying the identity of the magazine, self- vandalism, they don't care what you think of them.
  • It is quite bold and in your face, very aggressive makes you want to buy it.
  • Bold, you do not know whats in the magazine so you won't know what you are buying.
  • Subverts many conventions.
  • Masthead is plain sans serif font clearly visible top of cover, although partially covered by the 'pasted over' effect.
  • Black background, main image of male in camouflage jacket, angry expression, clenched fist, image partially pasted over- subverts codes of consumer/lifestyle magazines.
  • Title of this issue is POST-WEST in same white font as the masthead, dominantly positioned in the lower third of cover.
  • Social/political message- image linked to article 'time for a radical rethink of what is considered
